POSITION SUMMARY

Technical Support Engineer (Med Device)

Located in Des Moines, IA

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide excellent technical support to our customers, following our complaint management process, to quickly resolve, incidents and requests, exceeding expectations in the best interest of the organization.

• Perform pre-sales activities (i.e., security questionnaires), jointly with the sales rep, to ensure our computer-based equipment can be properly installed onto the customer’s network, prior to installation.

• Perform on-site installation of our critical medical devices, jointly with the sale rep, including, but not limited to, our products.

• Configure, test/troubleshoot, and update our medical device software, as needed.

• Effectively document each product complaint inside our complaint management system and follow up on all open cases until all relevant information is obtained and complaint has a valid resolution.

• Liaise and manage communications between internal teams, corporate, and external customers on device issue resolution and documenting.

• Extensive knowledge and practical experience of Windows operating systems

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT

• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 2-year degree/certificate in an IT related field, electronics/biomedical (preferred), or equivalent experience

• 2+ years of technical support experience in a similar role, general IT support or biomedical (preferred)

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

• Medical device industry background, or regulatory environment exposure.

• Prior experience supporting a hardware-software device.

• Fundamental computer literacy, including MS Office.

• Advanced computer skills including network, personal and business applications

LOCATION & TRAVEL

• This position is located in Des Moines, IA

• Travel to customer sites on installation of critical equipment, up to 30%
