Sinclair Broadcast Group IT Manager in Arlington, Virginia

WJLA has an excellent career opportunity for a full-time IT Manager to support the Engineering Department on its daily computer and network operations. This position involves maintaining computers and servers related to television transmission and video automation systems, as well as business-side work stations. The candidate will be directly responsible for hands-on support of modern broadcast and IT equipment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing day to day tasks for the local IT Team. Providing Support for Daily Operations.

  • Ensure that station systems are in compliance with company IT security policy.

  • Perform routine maintenance on systems, which includes on-air broadcast systems.

  • Participate in resolving daily issues as well analyzing recurring issues and determining a resolution for these cases.

  • Serve as a technical lead for IT projects that impact the local station

  • Coordinate with Corporate IT team on infrastructure upgrades and changes

  • Coordinate with local Engineering team on projects and tasks.

  • Maintaining and creating documentation that details infrastructure and system information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Develop knowledge of facility specific IT needs and assist in supporting these systems

  • Maintain a physical inventory of equipment

  • Maintain digital telephone system

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or higher in IT, electronics or computer related field

  • 6+ Years in an IT support role

  • A great team-oriented attitude and dedication to quality

  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft, Mac and Linux operating systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

  • Knowledge of network infrastructure concepts and hardware

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting problems and responding quickly under pressure

  • Strong communications skills, able to communicate with all stakeholders effectively

  • Familiarity with Avid related software and hardware products a plus

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule

  • On-call duty, including weekends and holidays

  • Ability to lift computers and equipment generally less than 50 pounds
