Job Description SummaryAAM is a world leader in the manufacture, engineering, validation and design of driveline systems, chassis systems and forged products for trucks, buses, sport utility vehicles and passenger cars.  Currently, this Tier 1 automotive components supplier needs a talented individual to fill the role of Director, Customs and Trade Compliance.

Job Description The Director, Customs and Trade Compliance is a key member of AA&Ms Global SCM team, working directly with regional teams that support North America, South America, Europe and Asia and provides leadership to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for import/export. This position will be directly responsible coordinating and executing strategic Customs and Trade compliance strategies. The position operates in a matrix environment across all of AA&M"s operating entities. Oversight and management of AAM's global trade compliance program in coordination with Finance, Legal and Internal Audit to ensure the Company is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including U.S. export control laws and regulations. Responsible for corporate global alignment of, education, training, program development, implementation, maintenance and audit of customs compliance, free trade agreements, export control, trade compliance and CTPAT. Global oversight of Global Trade Compliance and Brokerage/Customs Activities and interpretation of applicable regulations and regulatory trade requirements. Program manage the implementation of new Global Trade Management system. Maintain awareness of worldwide global trade regulatory requirements, primarily United States and Mexico, secondary Asia, Europe, India and South America. Strategic resource to advise AAM senior management on global trade compliance requirements as well as with respect to global issues. Work collaboratively with SCM Leadership to ensure robust internal controls are integrated into operational processes and procedures. Oversight of global trade programs; USMCA, APEC, EU & Brexit, PROSEC & Rule 8 etc. Responsible for the development, maintenance, and distribution global trade compliance (import and export related) policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with all Government regulations and laws. Ensure processes are aligned with best practices and adhere to external regulatory developments and policy changes as well as internally driven business changes In coordination with Internal Audit, and assessment of import/export compliance audits and SOX regulations. Works with Regional Supply Chain Leaders in assess risk assessments of import and export compliance programs to ensure that all sites follow established policies and procedures and meet all legal requirements. Oversight of outside service provider for Free Trade Agreements; solicitation and qualification activities as well as management of enterprise relationship with third party screening software supplier. Identify and implement continuous improvement activity to automate processes and improve trade data visibility. Consults with legal experts (internal and external) as needed to obtain guidance or advice on any legal compliance matters
