Citigroup Senior Regulatory Capital Analyst in Dublin, Ireland

Team/Role Overview

Citibank Europe plc (CEP) is the main EU banking entity for Citi in EMEA. It has a presence in 22 countries in Europe, covering several key business lines including Markets & Securities Services, Treasury & Trade Services, Corporate & Investment Banking, and Consumer, with Revenue of approx. $4bn and total assets of $150 billion. Given the size and importance of CEP in the European Banking arena, CEP is considered a “Significant Institution” by the European Central Bank and is directly supervised by the Single Supervisory Mechanism.

As a Senior Regulatory Capital Analyst, you will be a member of the CEP Capital Planning and Reporting team. This team is responsible for prudential regulatory reporting, regulatory change management, capital forecasting and capital allocations. The team is part of the wider Citi controller organisation in Finance.

What you’ll do

You will be a subject matter expert in Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) supporting senior management with robust and insightful RWA analytics and provide thought leadership on the development and enhancement of RWA forecasting.

  • Supporting key regulatory capital initiatives including the ICAAP and the business during ECB Stress Testing

  • Assessing the RWA impact of potential business opportunities

  • Help with capital planning and analysis including forecasting RWA

  • Delivering thought leadership and supporting the implementation of changes necessary to enhance RWA analysis and satisfy evolving regulatory developments.

  • Analysing and recommending RWA optimisation initiatives

  • Partnering with business to support analysis of RWA usage

  • Managing the Large Exposure pre-approval process

What we’ll need from you

  • Strong working knowledge of the prudential rules related to the calculation of regulatory capital and RWA - both banking and trading book, leverage ratio, and capital resources (including EU regulatory rules related to each of these areas)

  • Previous experience in a Global Bank Finance or Risk departments or Consultancy background

  • A good understanding of the regulatory treatment of a broad range of financial products, particularly those related to Global Banking and Markets, would also be desirable

  • A high level of adaptability, thriving in an environment where change is constant and new approaches and experimentation are encouraged.

  • Effective partnership and communication skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Excellent analytical background and skill set to understand Regulatory Reporting processes, including system data flows.

  • Able to work with large volumes of data from different sources.

  • Self-motivated with ability to make decisions and maintain a controlled environment.

  • Advanced Excel, Python or similar, Credit risk knowledge preferable

  • Professional qualification or similar an advantage – ACCA, ACA, CFA
