This posting represents multiple Mechatronics Engineering design & development job opportunities in the Battery Electric Vehicle development team. The roles and associated responsibilities are focused on the development of advanced vehicle components, wiring and control systems and will be distributed in the following functional areas:
Powertrain Controls & Power Distribution Network (Powernet)
Vehicle Driver Interface Controls (VIC)
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
Applicants to this posting will be considered as candidates for each of the functional area positions listed above.
Successful candidates will apply the theoretical principles, engineering techniques and practical experience towards designing vehicles that are safe, compliant, reliable, serviceable, energy efficient, competitive and use the latest technology available in the industry.
Lead and or guide Mechatronics design staff to package electronic components such as ECUs, sensors, wiring harnesses and power cables on the vehicle.
Research, design and development of advanced electronics hardware, controls and software specifications.
Interface with product regulatory compliance personnel to ensure designs meet all technical compliance regulations, restrictions and codes.
Execute the design and engineering release of electronic component and assembly drawings, schematics, controls software, vehicle programming parameters, and bills of materials in the DTNA systems.
Develop product performance criteria and validation plans for areas of responsibility.
Support construction of test vehicles and pre-production units
Address production & field issues with swift and thorough corrective actions including both long term and short term initiatives
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Bachelor’s Degree with focus in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university/college required
Demonstrated teamwork skills, including cross-functional collaboration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems

Typical Minimum Experience Preferred (Desired Skills/Experience)
2-4 years of relevant experience preferred
Working knowledge of NX or similar 3D CAD design tools
Mechanical design and analysis (sheet metal design, FEA, etc.)
Working knowledge of Capital Harness (CHS) or similar electrical circuit design tools
Working knowledge of DTNA Documentation systems
Experience with the design of validation of automotive systems
Understanding of engineering processes & downstream impacts
