Job Overview

This position will provide technical and administrative support to customers, dealerships and body builders that who utilize chassis assembled by the Freightliner Custom Chassis Organization in Gaffney, SC. The job will entail significant interaction by the Service Administrator who will be required to analyze issues and provide assistance where applicable while utilizing FCCC/DTNA software systems, documentation, policies and procedures. Interactions will be documented within online systems to record issues and actions taken while providing historical context to ongoing concerns. Finally this position provides a professional face to the customer as well as responses to issues that are consistent with our core principles and mandated guidelines.

Candidates graduating in Spring 2021 are eligible for consideration. All degree requirements must be completed by start date. If selected for the role, offer will be contingent upon proof of graduation.


  • Maintain service records on vehicles including proper documentation of problems, corrective action, and service/warranty commitments

  • Assist in the development of service bulletins, campaigns, and updates. Review technical content for technical literature

  • Support and provide technical assistance to Freightliner truck field service personnel. Perform field service and warranty duties in support of FCCC dealers, fleets and customers

  • Direct efforts in troubleshooting and repairing customer vehicles. Identify and analyze product problems and coordinate corrective action with other departments, vendors, and customers

  • Communicate corrective action taken to other departments and service network. Travel as needed to identify and correct customer and product problems, and to provide customer assistance

  • Assist with testing while working with engineering to correct critical field problems. Responsible for service of all FCCC model lines

  • Perform on-site training of dealer personnel in the operation, maintenance and support of FCCC chassis components

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university/college required and 2 years or relevant experience preferred OR 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree required

  • 2 years of thorough product and technical knowledge relating to automotive industry product lines

  • Must have exceptional organization skills and proven PC skills

  • An attached resume is required

Typical Minimum Experience Preferred (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Degree in automotive technology

  • Degree in Business and /or Communications

  • Customer service experience
