Job Overview

TechComm specializes in publishing and communicating technical, operational, and service information to truck drivers and service technicians.

The intention of this position is to lead the packaging of technical content provided by subject matter experts and other sources, which will be delivered to the above mentioned technical service audience.

The "technical content" is made up of many different types of information: it can be repair instructions, diagnostic procedures, engineering information, other technical info and updates, and can be in the form of text, video, animations, and more.

In this position you need skills in technical writing, communications, using software, potentially presenting, and possibly web data analytics. We are looking forward to the implementation of new digital tools and processes that closely align with engineering sources and the future needs of the consumer. We need someone who can continue to help us know our customers better and drive improvements in how we deliver our technical content.

The right person for this role is an energetic person with industry experience ready to help us advance from our "paper world" into the "digital world."


  • Represent TechComm in regards to sourcing, developing, and communicating technical content.

  • Be a technical content professional in technical writing, content gathering, content development, and communications.

  • Make advancements in development and delivery of technical content.

  • Collaborate and keep others informed on a regular basis specific to your projects.

  • Project management activities related to your projects

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • BS/BA degree in Communications, Technical Writing, or related field OR 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

  • Technical content development, and/or technical writing experience

  • An attached resume is required

Typical Minimum Experience Preferred (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Demonstrated written communication skills

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and critical thinking

  • Experience with authoring tools, outputs (like XML,SGML), and standards (like DITA)

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated skill to develop and format technical manuals for end user readability

  • Prefer 2-4 years of relevant experience
