Job Description

TheDepartment of Technology, Management and Budgetsupports the business operations of the state agencies through a variety of services including Information Technology project delivery, maintenance and support. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB.

We are looking for a person who understands the value of public service and wants to help us meet the needs of our citizens. Above all, we are looking for someone that is passionate about IT customer service This person must be able to communicate with other analysts, project managers and with the users, both listening and lending professional advice. This position must work well in team focused environment.

This position on the Customer Service Team assists the Client Specialist in the tactical and operational coordination and communication of information technology services to the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC). You will be assisting in providing support to ASAM coordinator , facilitates the business meetings and gather information needed, facilitates all escalations and issue resolution, fill and submit forms per incoming requests, develop and recommend alternative solutions to non-standard IT solution, be familiar with agency applications and with SOM Application Prioritization for recovery, Escalate issues, Function as a liaison between DTMB and the clients, participate in training and education on procedures, communicates with clients proactively to determine current and future IT needs. Works with agency contacts to correct urgent issues related to their applications. This is not limited to correcting errors but includes efforts to tailor existing implementations to meet specific needs.

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11/12

Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

Experience

Alternate Education and Experience

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11 - 12

Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

OR

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
