MEDICAL ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

Location: Lehi, Utah

Status: Part-time

Hours: Monday - Friday, 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Pay / Hourly: $23.38

SUMMARY

As a Medical Assistant Instructor, your role is to prepare and present lessons that are clearly tied to program learning objectives. You will join a team of educators who are dedicated to providing students with high quality, skills-based education that will successfully launch them into their careers. This position begins in mid-July.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaches and implements the curriculum, as assigned by, and under the direction and supervision of your direct supervisor.

  • Plans and assigns student activities in the classroom and/or clinical settings.

  • Is instrumental in identifying individual and collective learning needs of assigned students, being cognizant of the physical, mental and emotional status of the learners.

  • Maintains records of student progress and performance, attendance and grades.

  • Prepares, administers, and grades, written and practical examinations during course of study.

  • Devises written lesson plans and implements them through lecture, demonstration, discussion, etc.

  • Discusses with students their concerns and/or problems directly or indirectly related to learning experience. Creates a student Academic Improvement Plan with student if necessary.

  • Participates in regularly scheduled meetings as instructed by Program Coordinator.

  • Is responsible to assist the student to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the healthcare profession.

  • Participates in the selection and preparation of instructional materials.

  • Provides a professional role model for students.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Must hold appropriate current professional certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.

  • Associates degree or bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Minimum three years of professional experience as a medical assistant or equivalent.

  • Documented successful higher education teaching experience in the areas of assigned teaching responsibilities.

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
