University of Louisville Research Grants Accountant II in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience or the equivalent of education and experience. Grade 6 (Hourly)Position Description:This position is responsible for post award administration, compliance and fiscal management of grants and contracts awarded from federal, state and local government and private funding agencies. Applies specialized knowledge and interprets rules, regulations procedures and policies from funding agencies and combines those with university policies. Have excellent customer service skills as well as independent judgement and discretion in the management of grants and contracts working with project director, funding agency personnel and University and faculty personnel. Also, oversee the distribution, collection and analysis of faculty and staff effort reports. Examples of duties include reviewing, interpreting funding documents and campus policies and procedures; researching, interpreting and applying appropriate funding agency regulations and federal regulations as required by each award; maintaining contact with funding agencies regarding fiscal and reporting requirements; informing and working with project personnel to ensure regulatory compliance, including the fiscal management of grants/contracts; reviewing, analyzing and preparing report; maintain documentation for audits; review and approve disbursements to ensure conformity with funding agency and University policies and regulations Ability to lead and direct staff as necessary.This position offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare fiscal reports to sponsoring agency in an accurate and timely manner; perform revenue and expenditure analyses, closeouts of assigned grants and other fiscal reporting duties.Analyze grant billings and collections, revenue and expense recognition, data integrity of grant transactions for fiscal reporting/compliance.Management of the effort reporting process. Includes approving format, notification & training to faculty and staff of reporting requirements, collection, analysis, data entry & filing and follow up and tracking.Assist with general operations and compliance duties. This may include reconciliations such as Federal Letter of Credit draws and other financial reconciliations, year end and interim financial statement reporting analysis.Facilitate the processing, accuracy, and timeliness of Sponsored Program A/R matter, including grant set-up, billing, collections, payment application, check depositing, ACH wire transfer posting functions, and closeouts.Provide customer service with respect to grant operations and compliance.
