Daimler Trucks North America's (DTNA) Connectivity Platform department is seeking a Cloud Architect to lead the development of its Autonomous driving and Connectivity backend infrastructure.
The Connectivity Platform team supports the Digital Vehicle Services (DVS) and Autonomous Technology Groups (ATG) and is responsible for development and operations of DTNA's cloud deployed infrastructure. Our Connectivity Platform team is looking for a highly skilled individual with relevant knowledge and experience of infrastructure as code, automation and systems administration in a large Azure environment.
The Connectivity Platform team is responsible for scaling and stability of the platform as the business grows. We use Terraform to deploy an Azure infrastructure that is used by the Telematics application teams.
The Connectivity Platform Cloud Architect will have end-to-end ownership of the cloud deployed infrastructure and platforms. They will be responsible for defining and managing the platform roadmap, driving adoption of technology within the infrastructure and application teams.
As the successful candidate, you should have a DevOps mindset, experience leading a technical team, defining and developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments. You should have experience working with and integrating big data systems at an IoT scale. You should have a background in Linux administration and support. You should be aware of security and privacy and have an understanding of working in a secure development lifecycle environment.

Participate in architecture group to define direction of infrastructure needed to support the telematics environment
Maintain a working roadmap of infrastructure development goals
Develop infrastructure as code deployments to meet application needs
Monitor and resolve security related issues
Monitor and troubleshoot platform and OS issues
Debugging technical issues
Maintaining a scalable and stable cloud environment
Maintain platform and systems uptime – incident and problem resolution
Direct teammates to help develop platforms and infrastructure components
Develop scalable design patterns for high availability and disaster recovery of applications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college/university with 5-7 years of related experience required
Experience with leading a team
Experience with administration of Azure
Experience with administration of UNIX/LINUX OS
Experience with the software development process
Experience with scripting language such as Python, Bash or Powershell
Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform
Working knowledge of DevOps and Agile Methodologies
Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Log Analytics, Databog or ELK
Experience with containerization and Kubenetes (K8S)
