By nature, a high percentage of work for this position happens at Utah Athletics events on nights and weekends. During periods of irregular working hours, a flexible work schedule is allowed as agreed upon with supervisor and subject to meeting the minimum job requirements.

Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and overseeing all necessary arrangements pertaining to Athletics fundraising, stewardship and hospitality events, activities and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning and execution of all Utah Athletics donor relations/stewardship activities.

  • Understanding of and commitment to goals, values, and mission of Utah Athletics/Crimson Club.

  • Dedication to teamwork, a positive attitude, and demonstrated behavior that promotes cooperation, builds trust, and reflects a commitment to a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity.

  • Oversee all Crimson Club-related events and engagement activities.

  • Work with sport-specific staff on special fundraising initiatives on special events, auctions, and fundraising opportunities.

  • Create and maintain event-specific budgets.

  • Coordinate invitation graphics and lists with appropriate staff.

  • Communicate with invitees, guests, sponsors, speakers, venues, vendors, staff, and leadership about events.

  • Collaborate with Utah Alumni Association, the President’s Office and other campus groups on select events and engagement opportunities.

  • Oversee pre- and in-game hospitality for football, men’s and women’s basketball and gymnastics and other athletics events as assigned.

  • Manage stewardship events such as Crimson Club member appreciation events in conjunction athletics contests.

  • Display the highest possible level of customer service to both external and internal constituents.

  • Maintain donor confidentiality in regards to donations, ticket purchases, event sponsorships, and personal information.

  • Management of staff deployed to work at various events, with experience in staff supervision, training and orientation techniques, and problem-solving philosophy to ensure proper flow and staffing of work.

  • Oversee hospitality internship program.

  • Coordination with University personnel, Athletic Department personnel, other Crimson Club personnel, guests, donors, and invitees of sports and other major events held.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related area of assignment or equivalency and 2 – 4 years of event planning experience. Background knowledge of assigned department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Ability to display the highest possible level of customer service to both external and internal constituents. High attention to detail. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required.
