SummaryDirects the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Develop and lead 8-13 employees through active coaching by working much of your time with employees in the production cells.  Efficiently load equipment. Assemble, test, and finish X-ray tube products. Identify and implement improvement projects for labor efficiency, quality, and overhead cost reduction.  Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Makes budgetary recommendations regarding and, at higher levels, controls capital and budgeted expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Develops schedules based on manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Job Description OTHER SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OR DUTIES Performs all required management responsibilities including but not limited to: implementing the company's policies, programs, and guidelines; ensuring employee productivity and growth; managing resources; knowing Varex's business; and maintaining functional, technical, and external market awareness necessary for managing immediate organization. Assists manager in development of long range plans as required. Scope of role may include interaction with other sites and operations. Performs a continuing review of safety considerations to minimize liability risk to company. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATIONS Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge * Ability, competence, and confidence to lead people. * Effective interpersonal skills. * Understanding of operations finance, particular to direct and indirect labor and associated expenses * Knowledge with Lean Mfg, DFT, JIT or similar principles Required Certifications and Training * Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility. Experience Level with Business Tools * Familiarity and working abilities with: Project Planning, charting and presentations * Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

Impact of Decisions and Accuracy * Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules. Interaction * Interacts daily with subordinates and/or functional peer groups. Supervision * Provides immediate supervision to a group of employees, assigning tasks, checking work and frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules. A portion of time is normally spent performing individual tasks related to the unit. Generally supervises semi-skilled employees. Typical Education and Experience * Bachelors Degree or equivalent * 3 years of related experience * Typically no prior management experience
